Terry’s Takes – PUSS IN BOOTS

Posted in RedFM on December 13, 2011 by Terry

SCORE: 5/10

STARRING: ANTONIO BANDERAS, SALMA HAYEK, ZACH GALIFIANAKIS, BILLY BOB THORNTON

RELEASE DATE: 24TH NOVEMBER 2011

IN A NUTSHELL:

We get the back story on one of the most loved characters from Shrek!

BEST BITS:

The ‘ohhhhhhh’ cat was a definite scene-stealer. You can’t not love him!

The 'ohhhhh' cat. Cute animated character…or CULTURAL ICON?!!!

IMHO:

Puss is basically a shorter, hairier, cuter version of Zorro…who licks himself.

Also I found Humpty-Dumpty very distracting. I kept trying to figure out how many people would be able to have breakfast if he were an omelet.

Terry’s Takes – NEW YEAR’S EVE

Posted in RedFM on December 9, 2011 by Terry

SCORE: 5/10

STARRING: Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Robert De Niro, Josh Duhamel, Zac Efron, Katherine Heigl, Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Hilary Swank, Hector Elizondo, Sofia Vergara…and every other actor who isn’t currently in rehab ;)

RELEASE DATE: 8TH DECEMBER 2011

IN A NUTSHELL:

Follow’s the lives of a cross-section of people living in New York in the hours leading up to the ball drop.

BEST BITS:

1) When Kominsky (Hector Elizondo) is called in. He’s the ball expert. Yes, they have a ball expert :O

2) Every scene with Halle Berry in it. Yes, I’m biased that way.

IMHO:

I find it very difficult to truly enjoy these huge ensemble movies. I always feel like there’s too much going on and when I do find something I like in it I can only enjoy it for a brief moment because it has to make way for all the other story lines that need to be told.

But having said that this movie is dramatic enough, funny enough and emotional enough to be entertaining…enough.

Much better than Valentine’s Day. And I’m a Halle Berry fan, so that helped :)

Worth a watch.

Am I a Makan Maniac?

Posted in RedFM on December 8, 2011 by Terry

Just got back from dinner with a couple of friends and we realized something. There’s a slight possibility that I tend to order too much food. I dunno, do you think the pic below shows too much food for 3 people?

It’s been brought up before that if I ate less I’d probably be able to save loads of money and I’m starting to wonder if that’s true. So I’m gonna keep track of my food expenditure this month and we’ll see what my grand glutton-total is come January. We’ll find out if I’m really a Makan Maniac?

Hey, maybe you can tell me how much you spend on food a month for comparison’s sake. Ya?

Ooh this is making me nervous…I think I’m gonna buy something to eat ;)

Terry’s Takes – THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN PART 1

Posted in RedFM on November 30, 2011 by Terry

SCORE: 4/10

STARRING: KRISTEN STEWART, ROBERT PATTINSON, TAYLOR LAUTNER

RELEASE DATE: 24TH NOVEMBER

IN A NUTSHELL:

Human girl is pregnant with a vampire’s baby. Werewolves want to kill her and the baby. Vampires try to protect her.

BEST BITS:

The scene where they discuss the baby’s name. I was convinced right then and there that they should be deemed unfit parents. lol.

IMHO:

I’ve always been a fan of zombie movies so that’s what kept me interested in this flick. But there are no zombies in this movie you say? Well, you’re wrong, there’s ONE. Bella.

Think about it. She moves lifelessly , she speaks slowly with a slur and her eyes are constantly glazed over and spaced out. If that’s not a zombie I don’t know what is!

A movie about a love-triangle between a a vampire, a werewolf…and a zombie! Now that’s original ;)
